A performative installation
IT has landed: the WORLD FREUD CENTER. It is the headquarters of an international movement that has started to radically transform the way of production as FORD did a hundred years ago. The unconscious is not a theater, but a factory; however, the factory is no longer a complex of buildings, but encompasses the entire city; the city is no longer a settlement, but the whole world! It produces: subjectivity. andcompany & Co. have opened a dream workshop with the visual artist Jan Brokof & friends (Theo Boettger, Gregor Knüppel & Co.), in which everyone tinkers with their machines that connect and merge or interfere with each other and start off. In the era after FORD, IT no longer takes place on the assembly line, but is scattered across the entire globe. Post-Fordism is like a leopard case, writes Paolo Virno: “Production models that have historically replaced each other over a long period of time present themselves synchronously, almost like at a world exhibition.”
Everything comes together in the WORLD FREUD CENTER: IT is the corporate headquarters, the Kremlin and the Papal States. This is where Aller Aller FREUD is revered as the founder of the state, company leader and founder of religion. It is no coincidence that Freud discovered psychoanalysis in 1896, the year of the Berlin trade exhibition. The deeper connection between psyche, commodity and crisis is now revealed on the Tempelhof:
The dream may be the royal route to the unconscious, but the unconscious of the goods is the “dark continent” that needs to be discovered. The question remains: WHAT DOES THE GOODS WANT? Freud saw himself as a Columbus who only entered the coast of this new world. Since then, many conquerors have followed him. But an independence movement is also stirring in the unconscious. The darkness begins behind the ‘gateway to the world’. But where does this journey lead to the ‘heart of darkness’? To a foreign country or to a foreign country? How can you still differentiate between inside and outside in times of globalization? Whereas in the past goods were messengers from distant foreign countries that could be admired at world exhibitions, they have long since taken over colonization and occupied our consciousness. The colonized, however, is like the repressed: IT keeps coming back. The wishes no longer want to be treated as private patients, but want to move freely, chain together, go crazy: the worlds of childhood, love, art. andcompany & Co. with Tatiana Saphir (DJ Obstsalat) & Santiago Blaum will fight the exoticism of the world of goods through a musical-performative exorcism that thrives on tropical flowers and makes all the tropical fruits of our northern European subconscious dance. And so suddenly the tropical fever breaks out on the site of a former airport, wild vegetables plunge into the civil war, until all of us, Freud, calls for order: Where it is, WORLD FREUD CENTER should be.
