Lighting design for a theatre piece by andcompany&Co
andcompany&Co. know what they did last summer: The went into the Polish jungle to look for a Western City called EL DORADO. The ‘golden city’ promises adventures like in the movies: Everything is allowed here, except not to have money! Who cannot pay shall not eat, but shall be eaten: “Tofu is human flesh, tell everybody!” While the red sun sinks behind the nuclear power plant, permanent campers pitch their tents on stage to pass the time around the camp fire or at the torture pole: Polish cowboys, East-German Indian impersonators and a nouveau-riche undertaker from Berlin-Neukölln. They read Karl May instead of Karl Marx, but behind the scenes the crisis is raging: In this western you can experience the state of things of tomorrow already today – beyond law and mercy. Capitalism is not over, it has just begun… (andcompany&Co)
